With Earth Day’s 40th anniversary on April 22nd fast approaching, Cascadian Farm wants you to join the celebration by pledging to follow a few eco-friendly tips on Facebook. Choose from eight different pledges, ranging from reusing clothes to reducing your speed while driving on the highway, and find the one that fits your lifestyle. For each person that signs a pledge now through May 31, 2010, Cascadian Farm will donate $1, up to $40,000, to the Organic Farming Research Foundation, which fosters the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems.

As the Organic Farming Research Foundation continues to sow seeds to transform agriculture, you can do your part to initiate a positive change for healthier foods and a healthier earth by visiting http://www.facebook.com/cascadianfarm and signing the pledge that’s right for you.

Cascadian Farms, through MyBlogSpark,  sent me a “Live Green Together” prize pack that includes Cascadian Farm cereals and granola bars, including: Fruitful O’s cereal, Cinnamon Crunch cereal, Chocolate Chip Chewy granola bars, Dark Chocolate Almond Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond granola bars, Oats & Honey granola, and an eco-friendly grocery bag.

And I would like to offer you to win the “Live Green Together” prize pack as well!

How IRONIC :) I just ordered reusable garbage bags. I am going to in the future use those, and also take my lunch in a canvas bag instead of throw away plastic ones.

I’d love to get a rain barrell, so I can use rainwater to water my flowers.

Jen April 18, 2010 at 10:17 am

We already compost, and we’re hoping to get a rain barrel soon.

I became a fan of 2 SIDES and I volunteer for beach cleanup every year and have made my yard , no grass but all wildflowers…no pesticides going into the ground

Carolsue April 20, 2010 at 3:23 am

We really don’t have a compost heap, but we recycle everything we can and do use certain things like coffee grounds in the garden.

My family has virtually eliminated paper towels–HUGE for us!

Sue D April 21, 2010 at 10:47 am

I already do many green things (including composting) but I’ve started using reusable grocery bags more .

Jay April 21, 2010 at 1:13 pm

We try to limit going out for errands and carpooling.

LaVonne April 21, 2010 at 3:30 pm

I am visiting from WFMW and wanted to say thank you for offering the giveaway. We are now buying organic and local when possible.

Blessings!

We have indoor herbs that I use for cooking. They are not only fresher than dried, but reduce the packaging of constantly buying plastic shaker jars of oregano, basil, and thyme, but my beloved and often used faves.

We are recycling more and more every day. Besides cans and paper, we recycle clothes, oil, and so much more. Also I don’t use paper plates anymore. And I am striving to remember my canvas bags every time I go to the store.
